Els peripàtids (Peripatidae) són una família d'onicòfors, formada per 10 gèneres i 66 espècies. (ca)
Als Peripatidae bezeichnet man eine Familie von Stummelfüßern (Onychophora). Die Tiere, die wie alle Stummelfüßer oberflächlich wie Würmer mit Beinen aussehen, leben ausschließlich in tropischen Gebieten und ernähren sich von kleineren wirbellosen Tieren. Alle Peripatidae sind lebendgebärend, was außerhalb der Wirbeltiere eine vergleichsweise seltene Erscheinung ist. Die Familie wurde durch Richard Evans im Jahre 1901 nach der Typgattung Peripatus GUILDING 1826 benannt. (de)
Los peripátidos (Peripatidae) son una familia de Onychophora con animales relativamente derivados. Presentan una distribución circumtropical (Malasia, Borneo, cuenca del Congo, Indias Occidentales, centro de México, América Central y norte de América del Sur. Poseen mayor número de patas (22 a 43 pares) que los de la familia Peripatopsidae. Órganos coxales presentes, glándulas crurales solo en los machos. Glándulas salivares con reservorio. Gonoporo localizado entre el penúltimo par de patas. Ovarios con óvulos endógenos. Algunas especies con placenta. (es)

The oldest putative representatives of the family herald from Burmese amber dated to the mid-Cretaceous, around 100 Ma, with representatives from Dominican and Baltic amber attesting to a broader distribution in the Palaeogene / Neogene; molecular variability suggests that the family's crown group may have arisen in the early Mesozoic.
