It also hosted the Tasmanian Open (1968, 1976, 1980, 1986, 1991, and 2003), Australian Amateur (1968, 1974, 1987, 1993, 2000, and 2006), and Australian Women's Amateur (1968, 1978, 1990, and 1997). Jason Day in capturing the Australian Amateur Championship winner in 2006 held at the Royal Hobart Golf Club, shot the course record of 64 to break the course record previously held by Jack Nicklaus.
