Serene, Colorado was a company town owned by the Rocky Mountain Fuel Company. Serene had company housing, a post office, a tipple, and was the site of the Columbine Mine. The town was located by what is today the Erie landfill at 40°01′26″N 105°01′41″W / 40.024°N 105.028°W
