It is a cross-town rivalry with UBC being located in the University Endowment Lands just west of Vancouver, British Columbia, and SFU located approximately 30 kilometres away in Burnaby, British Columbia. The University of British Columbia is the current champion as of December 2 2022, though Simon Fraser leads in the series with an all-time record of 17–16–1.
