Silversword ist ein von Mario J. Gaida entwickeltes Fantasy-Rollenspiel. Es wurde am 13. Januar 2012 für iOS veröffentlicht und ist für das iPad und iPhone verfügbar. Das Rollenspiel ist nach dem Vorbild des klassischen Rollenspiels The Bard’s Tale entwickelt worden, hat aber eine eigenständige Story, die mit dem Original keine Verbindung aufweist. Das Spiel ist um ein paar moderne Spielmechaniken wie zum Beispiel eine Automapping-Funktion erweitert. Seit dem 15. September 2013 steht Silversword auch in einer komplett lokalisierten deutschen Version zur Verfügung. Am 8. Januar 2018 wurde die französische Sprache hinzugefügt.

Gaida modeled Silversword after the 1980s The Bard's Tale series of games, but provided a new storyline and plot. It retains the dungeon crawl character of the Bard's Tale series (first person party based play). It also integrates some of the mechanics of the original Dungeons & Dragons game, specifically, armor classes and the use of dice rolls (e.g., d20) to determine random factors within the game and will be instantly playable by anyone familiar with Ultima or Wizardry. Frequently updated, the game now offers an expansion, German and French translations, and an online discussion forum with announcements, tips and cheats, feature requests, etc. (en) |
