الصوتنة (بالإنجليزية: Sonification) هي استخدام الأصوات (غير الكلامية) في نقل المعلومات وقد استخدمت في عدة أجهزة منذ زمن وأشهر تلك الأجهزة عداد غايغر, كما تستعمل في الظروف التي تحتاج إلى انتباه دائم لبعض المعلومات كالعلامات الحيوية للمريض في قاعة العمليات.

Many sonification attempts are coded from scratch due to the lack of flexible tooling for sonification research and data exploration. Hierbij wordt dankbaar gebruik gemaakt van de verwerkingscapaciteit van het menselijk gehoor, dat in hoge mate in staat is om patronen te herkennen, zelfs als het aangeboden geluid zeer complex is.Een voorbeeld waarbij de techniek op een eenvoudige manier toegepast wordt is de geigerteller.
