Die Sunshine Tour ist eine im südlichen Afrika beheimatete Turnierserie im professionellen Golfsport. Sie gehört zu den sechs führenden Turnierserien der International Federation of PGA Tours, auf deren Basis die Golfweltrangliste errechnet wird. Für die längste Zeit ihres Bestehens war diese Tour unter dem Namen South African Tour oder auch FNB Tour bekannt. Die neue Bezeichnung sollte eine geographische Erweiterung zulassen, die meisten Turniere finden jedoch nach wie vor in Südafrika statt. Zudem kann das ausgeschüttete Preisgeld bei weitem nicht mit den anderen, insbesondere der PGA TOUR und der European Tour, mithalten und die führenden südafrikanischen Spieler qualifizieren sich lieber für die beiden erwähnten Turnierserien. Allerdings kehren die meisten für ein paar höherdotierte Events in ihr Heimatland zurück. Die Hauptturniere der Sunshine Tour sind die South African Open, die Dunhill Championship und die Joburg Open, die auch gleichzeitig zur European Tour zählen und dadurch ein spielstärkeres Teilnehmerfeld aufweisen. Jede Saison ist jahresübergreifend und wird Ende Februar mit einer Tour Championship abgeschlossen. Die Saison 2007/2008 umfasst 28 offizielle Veranstaltungen, wobei die beiden zuerst genannten Hauptturniere eine Dotation von jeweils 1 Mio. € haben, die Joburg Open 1,1 Mio. €. Die restlichen Turniere schütten zwischen 350.000 und 2,5 Mio. südafrikanische Rand aus. Dabei werden zwei bis drei Turniere pro Monat abgehalten, außer im Juli. Die Hauptsaison im südafrikanischen Sommer, vom November bis Februar, umfasst die wichtigeren Events. So gesehen teilt sich die Turnierserie in zwei Halbsaisonen, die frühe von März bis Oktober mit kleineren Events, eher für aufstrebende, junge Berufsgolfer und die erwähnte spätere mit namhaften südafrikanischen Golfern, aber auch bekannteren Spielern aus anderen Ländern. Le Sunshine Tour est un circuit professionnel de golf masculin basé en Afrique australe. Auparavant, ce circuit fut appelé the South African Tour (circuit sud-africain) ou FNB Tour avant d'être élargi, cependant la grande partie des tournois se disputent toujours en Afrique du Sud. Ce circuit fait partie des six grands circuits de golf professionnels masculins qui dominent le monde, bien qu'il soit moins doté que les autres circuits, de plus les meilleurs golfeurs sud-africains, s'ils sont qualifiés, préfèrent disputer la PGA Tour (circuit nord-américain) ou le Tour Européen PGA qui sont tous deux nettement mieux dotés avant de revenir dans ce circuit. Ce circuit n'était autorisé qu'aux joueurs blancs jusqu'en 1991 avant d'être ouvert aux joueurs noirs. Les trois tournois majeurs de ce circuit sont : l'Open sud-africain, le championnat Dunhill et l'Open Joburg, qui tous trois sont également sanctionnés par le Tour Européen, bien que le tournoi le mieux doté du circuit est le Nedbank Golf Challenge. The Sunshine Tour is a men's professional golf tour based in Southern and East Africa. For much of its early history it was known either as the South African Tour or Sunshine Circuit; through sponsorship deals, it has also been known as the Vodacom Tour and the FNB Tour. For the 2000–01 season the tour rebranded itself as the Sunshine Tour in an attempt to broaden its appeal. A large majority of the tour events are still staged in South Africa. The tour is one of the six leading men's tours which before 2009 made up the membership of the International Federation of PGA Tours, but it offers much less prize money than some of the leading tours, and leading Southern African golfers traditionally prefer to play on the PGA Tour or the European Tour if they can qualify to do so, typically returning to play in Sunshine Tour events a couple of times a year. Most of the tour's leading official money events, including the South African Open, are co-sanctioned with the European Tour to attract stronger fields. The 2015 season included 27 official money events. The co-sanctioned events had purses ranging from €1 million to $6.5 million, while the other 21 events had purses designated in South African Rand and ranging from 650,000 rand to 4.5 million rand. There was at least one tournament every month of the year except July, but the main events took place in the South African summer from November to February. The tour has been open to non-White players since 1991. Five black golfers have won events: South Africa's John Mashego at the 1991 Bushveld Classic; South Africa's Lindani Ndwandwe at the 2001 Western Cape Classic and 2009 Highveld Classic; Zimbabwe's Tongoona Charamba at the 2006 SAA Pro-Am Invitational and 2008 MTC Namibia PGA Championship; Zambia's Madalitso Muthiya at the 2016 Vodacom Origins of Golf (Wild Coast); and South Africa's Toto Thimba Jr. at the 2019 KCB Karen Masters. In 2016, the Sunshine Tour announced an affiliation with the MENA Golf Tour, allowing the top five MENA Tour players Sunshine Tour cards and those 6th-15th into the final stage of Q School. A number of events would also be co-sanctioned among the Sunshine Tour, MENA Tour, and developmental Big Easy Tour. (en)

Il Sunshine Tour è un tour professionistico di golf maschile che ha la propria base in Sudafrica. Per la maggior parte della sua storia è stato conosciuto anche con il nome di South African Tour o FNB Tour, ma l'organizzazione ha deciso di cambiare il proprio marchio per cercare di attirare maggior interesse. La grande maggioranza dei tornei del tour si disputa in Sudafrica. Il tour è uno dei sei grandi tour che costituiscono la , ma offre ai partecipanti un montepremi inferiore a quello dei tour più importanti, così i migliori giocatori sudafricani preferiscono sempre, se riescono ad essere ammessi, disputare il PGA Tour o l'European Tour, limitandosi a tornare in Sudafrica per giocare un torneo del Sunshine Tour un paio di volte l'anno.
