Swayambhuva Manu (Sanskrit: स्वयम्भुव मनु) is the first of the fourteen Manus. He was the Mānasaputra of Brahma and the husband of Shatarupa. He divided the Vedas into four sections. He was residing in the planet called Brahmavartha whose capital was Barhismati.
