Taras Grescoe is a Canadian non-fiction writer who won the Writers' Trust Non-Fiction Prize in 2008 for his book Bottomfeeder: How to Eat Ethically in a World of Vanishing Seafood. He was also nominated twice previously, for Sacré Blues: An Unsentimental Journey Through Quebec in 2000 and The End of Elsewhere: Travels Among the Tourists in 2003. His one but recent book, Straphanger: Saving Our Cities and Ourselves from the Automobile is about public transportation around the world. Grescoe was born in Toronto, Ontario. He lives in Outremont, Montreal, Quebec.
