Theodore S. Hamerow (ur. 24 sierpnia 1920 w Warszawie, zm. 16 lutego 2013 w Madison, Wisconsin) – amerykański historyk polsko-żydowskiego pochodzenia, specjalista w dziedzinie współczesnej historii Niemiec, profesor akademicki, autor licznych publikacji naukowych i książek.

Von 1973 bis 1976 war er Vorsitzender des Department of History an der University of Wisconsin. 1978 war er Vorsitzender der Modern European History Section der American Historical Society. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf der deutschen Geschichte des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts. In Deutschland wurde er vor allem durch sein Buch über die Attentäter des 20. Juli 1944 bekannt, das einzige Buch von Hamerow, das bisher ins Deutsche übersetzt wurde (Die Attentäter: Der 20. Juli, Von der Kollaboration zum Widerstand, 1999, Taschenbuch 2004). Ins Deutsche übersetzt wurde auch sein Aufsatz Die Wahlen zum Frankfurter Parlament für die von Ernst-Wolfgang Böckenförde herausgegebene Moderne deutsche Verfassungsgeschichte. Born to Jewish parents in Warsaw, Hamerow moved via France to the United States with his family in 1930. He earned his bachelor's degree from City College of New York in 1942, followed by a master's from Columbia University in 1947. In 1951, he earned his doctorate under supervision of Hajo Holborn at Yale University. Hamerow was a professor of German history at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign from 1952 to 1958, before joining faculty at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he taught until 1991.
