Thomas Drant (né vers 1540 à dans le Lincolnshire et décédé probablement le 17 avril 1578) est un pasteur et un poète anglais. Son travail sur la prosodie est connu de Philip Sidney et Edmund Spenser. Il fait partie, avec Sidney, du cercle d'intellectuels appelé l'Aréopage. Il traduit en anglais Horace, qu'il trouve plus difficile à rendre qu'Homère. C'est la première traduction anglaise complète des Satires, mais Drant en modifie sensiblement le contenu. He was in the intellectual court circle known as the 'Areopagus', and including, as well as Sidney, Edward Dyer, Gabriel Harvey, and Daniel Rogers. He translated Horace into English, taking a free line in consideration of the Roman poet's secular status; but he mentioned he found Horace harder than Homer.
