Turkish hikaye (Persian: داستان‌عاشیقی, Turkish: Hikâye) is a narrative genre, which is a mixture of prose and poetry. Prose, the dominant part is narrated by an ashik and is interspersed with poems sung by the same artist to the accompaniment of saz.
