It is owned by Nexstar Media Group alongside Lynchburg-licensed CW owned-and-operated station WWCW (channel 21). Both stations share studios at the Valleypointe office park on Valleypoint Parkway in Hollins (with a Roanoke mailing address), while WFXR's transmitter is located on Poor Mountain in unincorporated southwestern Roanoke County.
