Walter Peter „Wally“ Stanowski (* 28. April 1919 in Winnipeg, Manitoba; † 28. Juni 2015 in Toronto, Ontario) war ein kanadischer Eishockeyspieler, der im Verlauf seiner aktiven Karriere zwischen 1936 und 1952 unter anderem 488 Spiele für die Toronto Maple Leafs und New York Rangers in der National Hockey League auf der Position des Verteidigers bestritten hat. Während seiner zehn Spielzeiten in der NHL gewann Stanowski mit den Toronto Maple Leafs in den Jahren 1942, 1945, 1947 und 1948 insgesamt viermal den Stanley Cup. Darüber hinaus wurde er einmal ins NHL First All-Star Team berufen und nahm ebenso oft am NHL All-Star Game teil.

Il joue en tant que défenseur entre 1938 et 1952 dans la Ligue américaine de hockey et dans la Ligue nationale de hockey. Champion 1938 de la Coupe Memorial avec les Seals de Saint-Boniface, il rejoint les Maple Leafs de Toronto en 1938 et remporte avec eux une première Coupe Stanley en 1942. Sélectionné dans la première équipe d'étoiles de la LNH en 1941, il met en pause sa carrière professionnelle pendant un peu plus de deux ans en raison de la Seconde Guerre mondiale entre 1942 et 1944. De retour dans la LNH, il remporte trois nouvelles Coupes Stanley avec Toronto en 1945, 1947 et 1948. Échangé après cette nouvelle Coupe, il termine sa carrière dans la LNH en jouant avec les Rangers de New York entre 1948 et 1951 puis rejoint pour un peu plus d'une saison les rangs des Mohawks de Cincinnati dans la LAH. Il arrête sa carrière en 1952 après s'être cassé une jambe. Stanowski devient ensuite vendeur d'engins de construction avant de s'installer dans la ville d'Etobicoke en Ontario ; il y meurt en 2015, à l'âge de 96 ans. Stanowski started his National Hockey League career with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1939. In 1941, he was a member of the NHL All-Star team. He won four Stanley Cups with the Maple Leafs. Stanowski was traded to the New York Rangers after the 1947-48 season. He retired after the 1951 season. Stanowski was the last surviving member of Maple Leafs 1942 and 1945 Stanley Cup team. As of 2015, Stanowski lived in a retirement home near Toronto. He died on June 28, 2015. At the time of his death, Stanowski was the oldest surviving Maple Leaf. On October 14, 2016, Stanowski was named by the Maple Leafs as #66 of the one hundred greatest players in team history. (en) Уолтер Становски (англ.
