Arabischer Hip-Hop ist Hip-Hop-Musik und -Kultur arabisch(sprachig)en Ursprungs. Es gibt arabischen Hip-Hop auf Arabisch bzw. arabischen Dialekten, Englisch, Neuhebräisch und Französisch. Einige Künstler sind sehr vom amerikanischen Hip-Hop beeinflusst. Dennoch beschreiten viele kreatives Neuterrain, indem sie sich nur des Stils bedienen. Hip-Hop-Musik hat fast in der gesamten arabischsprachigen Welt eine große Berühmtheit erlangt. Sie wird im Radio und Fernsehen ausgestrahlt, wobei der arabische Hip-Hop noch sehr jung ist. Es wird behauptet, die palästinensische Gruppe DAM sei die erste Gruppe gewesen, die (1998) versucht habe, arabische Rap-Musik zu produzieren. Viele Hip-Hopper bewegen sich noch im Untergrund, da kritisches Denken und kritische Äußerungen in einigen Ländern staatliche Zensuren zur Folge haben könnten. Das Internet wurde so zum Forum für die meisten arabischen Gruppen wie die Arabian Knightz, eine ägyptische Gruppe, die aktuell an Popularität gewinnt. (de)
