Unter Versorgungstechnik fasst man heute alle technischen Maßnahmen zusammen, die in Räumen und Gebäuden, aber auch Betriebsstätten und Einrichtungen, die keine Gebäude sind, der energetischen Versorgung (d. h. beispielsweise Beheizung und Beleuchtung) sowie der stofflichen Versorgung (Wasser, Luft) und der Entsorgung aller Abfallprodukte (Abwasser, Müll) dienen. Teilgebiete der Versorgungstechnik sind die Technische Gebäudeausrüstung (TGA) bzw. die Gebäudetechnik.Diese Begriffe werden teilweise auch synonym verwendet.Versorgungstechnik schließt dabei alle Gebäudetypen sowie auch Anlagen mit ein, die keine Gebäude sind, während sich die Gebäudetechnik mit allen Gebäuden, so auch Nichtwohngebäuden und Industrieanlagen, beschäftigt. Der vormals verwendete Begriff Haustechnik wird heute noch gelegentlich für die Technische Gebäudeausrüstung in Wohngebäuden verwendet. Der Zweck ist jeweils, das Gebäude für die Bewohner und Nutzer „benutzbar“ zu machen und verschiedene Sicherheitsaufgaben zu erfüllen. Einerseits sind damit üblicherweise notwendige Ausstattungsmerkmale wie Kanalisation, Stromversorgung oder Beleuchtung gemeint. Andererseits umfasst der Begriff aber auch alle zusätzlichen Anlagen, die z. B. zur Automatisierung von Arbeitsvorgängen in Gebäuden eingesetzt werden. (de)
