Sylar watched the rain scour blood from the cracks on the pavement. He turned, seeing his not-brother leaning on the waist-high stone wall. Peter was watching it too.

“Go away,” Sylar hissed. Normally he would be taunting, but he couldn’t bring himself too. There was a part of him that didn’t want Peter to see the massacre. A part of him that confused every other part. “I’m not your brother anymore,” Sylar added, his words fueled by frustration.

Whatever Peter was going to say next was lost in the sudden fury of gunfire. Sylar sent Danko’s men flying with his telekinesis. Who did Danko think he was dealing with? It was a battle easily won.

Behind him, Peter gasped.

Sylar whipped around and saw crimson. Bright scarlet spreading across Peter’s shirt. Before a thought crossed his mind Sylar had his not-brother in his arms, running.

When he was far enough away Sylar lowered Peter to the ground. Danko had suffered a beating. He wouldn’t follow yet.

Sylar watched the rain scour blood from the cracks on the pavement, but this time it was Peter’s.

“Gabriel….” Peter gasped out. Sylar didn’t answer to that name anymore but…

“I’m here.” He didn’t care about anyway but his hands pressed against the wound.

Sylar didn’t need anybody, but his heart rate doubled when Peter’s eyes rolled shut.

Sylar watched the blood running through the small plastic tube.

Peter’s eyes opened slowly, one eyelid going faster than the other. Peter looked at the blood pumping into his system through the IV, then glanced at his not-brother.

“We’re the same blood type,” Sylar shrugged. Peter grinned.

“But we’re not brothers.”

“Brother’s are more than blood,” Sylar tossed back, but Peter smiled dopily.

“Yeah Gabriel…they are.” He was asleep before Sylar could ask what he meant.
