The Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly (EMRA) is one of the three Regional Assemblies in Ireland. Part of the local government structure, EMRA operates independently to provide a range of functions for the Region.

EU Just Transition Fund
EU Just Transition Fund (JTF) is a new fund created under the 2021-2027 EU programming round to help communities across Europe meet the challenges posed by the transition to a zero-carbon economy.
Irish Regions in Europe Office
EMRA manages the Irish Regions European Office (IREO), which acts as a bridge between Irish local and regional government and the European Union.
Committee of the Regions
The Irish delegation to the Committee of the Regions (CoR) represents local and regional government in EU policy formation and decision-making processes.

EU Just Transition Fund
The EU Just Transition Fund (JTF) is a brand-new fund created under the 2021-2027 programming round. It operates under Regulation (EU) (2021/1056) within the framework of the EU Cohesion policy.
The Fund’s single specific objective is to support the regions and communities in Europe that are most negatively affected by the transition to climate neutrality, ensuring that no one is left behind.
EMRA was appointed the Managing Authority of this new EU fund by the Minister for Environment Climate and Communications. As the Managing Authority, EMRA will have overall responsibility for the implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of the programme.
Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy 2019-2031 (RSES)
The primary statutory objective of the Strategy is to support implementation of Project Ireland 2040 – which links planning and investment through the National Planning Framework (NPF) and ten- year National Development Plan (NDP) – and the economic and climate policies of the Government by providing a long-term strategic planning and investment framework for the for the Eastern and Midland Region.
