Legendary rockers Boston announced today the band will end its 40th anniversary tour with a date at Boston’s Wang Theatre on Sunday, Aug. 14. Although Boston has performed at a clutch of charity shows in their namesake city over the past decade, this will be the act’s first full performance in Boston since 1994.

“I’m very excited to bring Boston back to Boston,” said the band’s founder, chief songwriter, and guitarist Tom Scholz in a statement. “Music broadcast from Boston got me interested in rock when I was in high school living in Toledo, Ohio. Later, studying and working in this city taught me everything I needed to know to create Boston’s sound in my studio. Our hometown fans have always been great, and I could think of no better way to end our 40th Anniversary Tour than back here in Boston where it all started.”

Tickets for the show in Boston go on sale April 2 at 10 a.m. and will be available to purchase from the Wang Theatre box office and via Ticketmaster.

Boston’s 40th anniversary tour kicks off April 29 at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. A full list of dates can be found at the band’s official website.
