Updated Rules by SomeLines on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Bullet; Green DO NOT re-sell, re-upload, and/or re-distribute any of my lines.

Bullet; Green You MUST MAKE ART. Actually do something with it.
Bullet; Green DO NOT make stock with my stock. In any form. Whatsoever.

You do not need to credit or send me a link, but I would appreciate it if you did!

Basically, if you're sending somebody my lines, uploading anything for others to use, or you're uploading a line that is very close to my original, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

Have questions? Check my F.A.Q. before asking! :) (Smile)

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ FAQ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

:bulletgreen:Can I make lines or greyscales to offer as stock?
-NO. No stock of any kind may be made with my lines.

:bulletgreen:What if the new lines or greyscales are commissioned and only available to one person?
-NO. No stock of any kind.

:bulletgreen:What if the lines and greyscales I make are not stock, and are for only my use, can I still make them?
You can make them, but DO NOT upload them on here or anywhere else. I do not want greyscales of my stock floating around. If you must post them, they need to be watermarked and tiny!

:bulletgreen:Can I use your lines for adoptables and character sheets?
-Yes.

:bulletgreen:Can I sell the work I make with your lines?
-Yes. You may sell finished works of art. You may not make or sell stock (lines, greyscales, etc) made with my lines.

:bulletgreen:Can I use your lines on other websites?
-Yes

:bulletgreen: You say I don't need to credit or send you a link...are you for real?
-Yes. As long as you paid to get the lines, you don't have to credit or send me a link, but I would still love to see your work if you want to credit and send a link!

:bulletgreen: Can I use your stock in tutorials?
-Yes, so long as they are small, and not able to be stolen from it.

:bulletgreen:Can I use your lines in gore type stuff?
-Yes. You may use my lines in gore/hate/religious/anti-religious/sexual/etc art. I don't care.

:bulletgreen:Can I change your lines?
-Yes, but for your personal use only. You may not offer my altered lines as stock, or pass them off as your own art piece without coloring them.

:bulletgreen:Can I remove your lines from my finished piece?
-Yes, but you still need to follow my rules.

:bulletgreen: How many times am I allowed to use the lines I buy?
-You can use them as much as you want!

:bulletgreen: Some of your lines are low resolution. Can you make them higher resolution?
-No. I would like to fix my older lines, but my computer crashed and I lost all my original .SAI files. I don't want to completely re-do them. My newer lines are all high res though!

:bulletgreen:Can I print out your lines for me or my kid/brother/sister/cousin/etc to color?
-Yes. But you don't need to ask or tell me about it unless it's posted online.

:bulletgreen:How do you make your lines?
-Paint Tool Sai. I used this tutorial starting out: fav.me/d518gl1

:bulletgreen:Can you send me the sai or photoshop files of your lines?
-No.

:bulletgreen:Do you take requests or commissions?
-Not anymore.

:bulletgreen: Your lines are downloadable for a fee. Do I have to pay?
-Yes, if you want to use them.

:bulletgreen: Why did you stop your application process?
-I can't keep up with the applications anymore. I'm very busy. :( I'm sorry.

:bulletgreen: I can't afford your lines though!
-I'm sorry. :(

:bulletgreen: Nobody is going to buy your lines when there are so many free ones! You're wasting your time here! Why do you even try? I'm so irate at the idea of having to pay for something on the internet!
-I don't expect to get rich off of this, but I am doing ok. If my lines aren't worth the money for you, move on, don't send me a note or comment. It won't change anything.

:bulletgreen: Some of your lines are not available for purchase or free...what's the deal? How do I get them?
-It's to do with the rules of the people who took the photo I used to make the lineart from. They allowed me to let people have my lines for free, but do not allow me to make my lines for sale. I no longer give my lines out for free, but I still need to follow the rules of the original photo takers, so they cannot be offered for sale. You cannot get them anymore. They are "retired" in a sense.

:bulletgreen: Why are they still up then? Nobody can use them!
-They remain up for the people who may still have a copy from when they were free..they are able to link back to the original lines and photo. And I leave them up as art, too. :)

:bulletgreen: I have a bunch of your lines from before you stopped doing your application process, can I still use them without paying?
-Of course!! You're grandfathered in for the ones you have.

:bulletgreen: I bought your lines, but something went wrong...help!
-Try contacting deviantart first, often I can't do anything for you in the event of a bug or glitch. If deviantart screws you, then come to me and I will figure something out.

:bulletgreen: I bought your lines but I can't save or do anything with the file.
-Try copy and pasting the file from the zip file onto your desktop.

:bulletgreen: What do you do with the money?
-Buy food and other things I need.

:bulletgreen:Your lines are too realistic, can you do more cartoony stuff?
-Nope. I draw what's in the photos I trace.

:bulletgreen: OMG you trace? That's the worst thing ON EARTH. EVER. GO DIE PLZ.
-Tracing (when done in appropriate situations) is actually a very useful thing to do. Even though I trace, there are a lot of artistic aspects of making lines.

:bulletgreen: Your lines look A LOT like the ones AlaskaStock used to post. Did you steal?!?
-I am/was AlaskaStock. My new photo stocks are at :iconalaskanstock:
