Agent makes generous donation (original) (raw)

ONE southern Sydney agent has donated over $10,500 to charity, inspired by the heartbreaking story of his vendors.

When Ray White-Green Square Botany agent Clay Chigwidden heard his vendors Bob and Janet Reoch had recently lost their son Robbie through a combination of a motocross accident and cystic fibrosis, he knew he wanted to help.

Mr Chigwidden agreed to donate half of his commission from the sale of the Reoch family’s property to charity ROLL 101, which provides assistance to young people impacted by chronic illness or catastrophic injuries.

Having spent time with the family during the sales process and learning about their son’s illness and injuries, Mr Chigwidden, in consultation with the Reoch family, decided it was the best way to raise awareness and honour Robbie’s memory.

“I could see how heartbroken the family were and thought it would be a good time to give back,” he said.

“The main reason I did it was to raise awareness because I think it’s paramount they get the recognition they deserve.”

Why location is everything in real estate

It has been a tough journey for the Reoch family, who chose ROLL 101 because of the extensive help they had provided their son over many years.

“It was a very nice thing to do,” Mr Reoch said.

“It’s a very small charity so 100 per cent of the money goes to helping the people who need it,”

ROLL 101 chairman Peter Graham said the money donated would go to providing equipment for children with disabilities or who have had catastrophic injuries.

“We had the privilege of providing equipment to the young man in question, and seeing the difference ROLL 101 can make to the lives of those that need it, so it’s wonderful that Clay recognised us as a fitting charity,” he said.

“The money will go a long way and we hope this raises valuable awareness.”
