Big changes are coming to the L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant program.
Spoiler Alert: If you are a student attending a U.S. university and you plan to attend field camp in the summer next year, you will want to stay tuned. Please check back in November for more information.
Give Today
Tomorrow’s geoscientists rely on you. Luckily, it’s easy to give a tax-deductible donation. Cash, stock, matching gifts, commemorative and memorial gifts—you name it. Best of all, you choose the funds and programs you want to support.
Who We Are
Since 1967, the AAPG Foundation has promoted the geosciences by distributing technological information, recognizing outstanding achievements, and by funding grants, publications and other initiatives that support the preservation of data, training and career enhancement for current and future geoscientists.
How We Help
Grants-In-Aid Graduate Program
Grants are given annually to provide financial assistance to graduate students (currently enrolled in Masters or Ph.D. programs) whose thesis research has application to the search for and development of petroleum and energy-mineral resources, and/or to related environmental geology issues.

Inspirational Geoscience Educator Award
This $6,000 award honors a college or university professor who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of geoscience education, inspiring students to love geoscience and motivate them to pursue geological careers.
Other Education Programs
AAPG Foundation initiatives promote Earth Science Curriculum in K-12 classrooms, send distinguished lecturers on tour throughout the world, coordinate college campus visits by professional geoscientists, and more.
Publications
AAPG is one of the top petroleum geoscience publishers in the world, from The AAPG Bulletin—our industry-leading, peer-reviewed technical journal—to a variety of special publications. Through the Foundation, we also fund university subscriptions to numerous geology publications.
