A minor league team destroyed Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus music in a postgame explosion (original) (raw)
The Charleston RiverDogs, Class A affiliate of the New York Yankees, recreated the infamous Disco Demolition Night Saturday after a game against the Augusta GreenJackets. Back in 1979, Chicago White Sox owner Bill Veeck and his son Mike came up with the idea to have fans bring their old disco records to a double-header, and then destroy the records on the field in between games. The explosion torched the outfield, and fans rushed the field, forcing the team to call off the second game.

Mike Veeck is now president of the RiverDogs, and he staged a sequel to Disco Demolition night, this time targeting the music of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus. Fans brought Bieber and Cyrus paraphernalia to the park and after the game concluded, it was blown up inside a giant boombox.
