This is long past due but since gossbox has crossed 3250 members, (which is a bit insane considering the community was set up just over a year ago), I am now switching it to moderated membership. It's a hassle but probably the best option in the long term.

Members are free to pimp the comm out to friends privately (email/friends locked entries etc.) and it would help if you gave a heads up here if they're interested in joining - especially if your friends don't post much or aren't all that active on LJ.

For prospective members, please comment to this post (all responses are screened) with 1) "Application" in your subject title, 2) how/where you found out about GB and 3) why you're interested in joining.

After commenting, you can click the join button - that's about it! Of course, its very helpful to get a fellow member to vouch for you too, especially if your LJ is pretty inactive or new (less than 6 - 12 months old) :D
