GTA 5 (also known as GTA V / Grand Theft Auto V / Grand Theft Auto Five) is the fifth numbered game in the Grand Theft Auto series from Rockstar Games. It is the 15th overall title in the iconic Grand Theft Auto franchise. GTA 5 was released on both PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013. GTA Online, (also known as GTAO) the multiplayer section of GTA 5, launched on October 1, 2013. GTA 5 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with significant changes on November 18, 2014, and on PC on April 14, 2015. Support for GTA Online continues with frequent (usually weekly) updates.

In addition to previous releases, Grand Theft Auto 5 received an Expanded and Enhanced edition that was released on March 15, 2022, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

GTA 5 Interactive Map
Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA5) is set in Los Santos and the surrounding areas of San Andreas, the Los Angeles-inspired region where GTA: San Andreas on PS2 was set. The map of San Andreas has been converted into an island and features a vastly different layout than its PS2 counterpart. The new GTA 5 map is approximately 100 square miles (13x7) with Los Santos being about 21 square miles, twice the size of the Midnight Club Los Angeles Map.

| Spaceship Parts | 50 | Fame or Shame | A side quest collectible that has you collecting "spaceship parts". Once you find all the pieces, you'll be able to take the unique vehicle the Space Docker. You'll also get Achievements and Trophies. |
| Stunt Jumps | 50 | None | A returning collectible from previous GTA games. Jump a gap, get credit, get Achievements and Trophies. |
| Letter Scraps | 50 | Mystery of Leonora Johnson | A side quest collectible that has you complete a letter by finding scraps of paper in order to find a woman's murderer. Once you find all the pieces, you'll be able to confront the murderer. You'll also get Achievements and Trophies. |
| Epsilon Tracts | 10 | Epsilon | Complete the Epsilon missions to unlock the Epsilon Tracts; these are tied to the cult living in the wilderness near Mt. Chiliad. |
| Submarine Parts | 30 | Death at Sea | Submarine Parts appear on the map (in the water) after the beginning of the Death at SeaMission. |
| Hidden Packages | 12 | None | There are 12 Hidden Packages spread throughout the waters in Grand Theft Auto V. Each one contains a large sum of cash, and often times weapons and other items. |
| Knife Flights | 15 | None | This is more of an Aerial Challenge than a collectible, but it involves flying a stunt plane between 15 narrow building openings. |

| Nuclear Waste | 30 | None | Start the mission by purchasing the Sonar Collections Dock in Paleto Bay for $250,000. |
| Peyote Plants | 27 | None | One update Rockstar hasn't mentioned in the build-up to release is the addition of 27 Peyote Plant Collectibles that, when consumed, send you through a hallucinatory trip into the body of a random animal! |
| Monkey Mosaics | 50 | Complications | Once you finish the complications mission with Franklin, you'll receive a text from Lamar telling you about some Monkey Mosaics springing up around town. Photograph all 50 of these designs. |
| Wildlife Photography Challenge | 20 | Paparazzo | To start this challenge, you need to complete the first "Paparazzo" Strangers and Freaks mission with Franklin. Once done you'll receive a text from Beverly telling you he's signed you up for the photography competition, then an email will arrive from Los Santos Tourist Info with a list of the 20 animals you need to snap for the prize. |
| Murder Mystery | N/A | None | In order to solve this Murder Mystery, you'll need to find a series of cryptic messages scratched into the walls around Los Santos and a number of other clues in order to track down the killer. |
