Processing Information
This finding aid is updated periodically to account for new materials that have been added to the collection. For information on material that may have been acquired for the collection since the last update, please consult the Access Service Desk.
This finding aid contains materials previously cataloged in the Manuscript Card Catalog, in the General Collection Manuscript Miscellany, and as GEN MSS 317 and 518; GEN MSS VOL 81, 85, 137, 171, 208, 407-410, 420, 424, and 428-436; and GEN MSS FILE 17, 22, 29, 241, 330, 339, 359, 372, and 380-381. All pertinent bibliographic information has been retained. Cross references have been listed in the General Collection Manuscript Miscellany.
Shelf locations were formerly listed under group numbers consisting of a sequential number and name (e.g. Group 1, Massenet, Jules). Group numbers were discontinued in 2010 April. Former group numbers for materials added before 2010 April are noted in folder notes. In 2022, complete works of notated music formerly classed within this collection but also cataloged separately in Yale's online catalog (Orbis) were given new call numbers and may now be requeseted through Orbis. Notes indicating the new call numbers for these items appear in the listing for this collection.
