Human Development Index (HDI) The HDI is a summary measure for assessing long-term progress in three basic dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, access to knowledge and a decent standard of living. View Data by Country Thematic Composite Indices The human development composite indices have been developed to capture broader dimensions of human development, identify groups falling behind in human progress and monitor the distribution of human development. In addition to the HDI, the indices include Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), Inequality-adjusted Human Development Index (IHDI), Gender Inequality Index (GII), Gender Development Index (GDI), Planetary pressures-adjusted HDI (PHDI) and Gender Social Norms Index (GSNI). See all Thematic Indices Thematic Dashboards In addition to the composite indices, statistical dashboards have been developed to consolidate multiple indicators to evaluate progress of human development by highlighting levels and changes of various indicators. The latest HDR features five colour-coded dashboards covering five topics: quality of human development, life-course gender gap, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability and socioeconomic sustainability.
