XML POinter Language Version 1 (June 7th, 2000) from Eve L. Maler on 2000-07-07 (www-xml-linking-comments@w3.org from July to September 2000) (original) (raw)

Eve --

I have just finished reading the Candidate Recommendation for XPointer dated 7 June 2000 and found a couple editorial errors.

1
Section 5.4.2 string-range() Function, example 2:
    ... the following expression returns ... from the start of the

string) in the third occurrence... Example Given: string-range(//P,"Thomas Pynchon",8,0)[17]

Shouldn't the [17] be [3] ?

2
Section 5.4.2 string-range() Function, example 3:
    ... Alternatively this could be specified as follows:
    (this referring to the above example)
    string-range(string-range(//P,"Thomas Pynchon")[17],"P",1,0)

Again, shouldn't the [17] be [3] ?

3
Section 5.4.6 unique Predicate Function
    paragraph 2 beneath the count()=1 example:
    ... set of smaller locations, as opposed to the range the covers the

same total...

Shouldn't it be written (range THE covers -> range THAT covers): ... set of smaller locations, as opposed to the range that covers the same total...
