It would probably be necessary to require some parens there, e.g. for (x in iter1, (y,z) in iter2): ...
I've also a proposition, but I don't know if it can't be done since I don't know how Python works internally :
for x in iter1 and y in iter2: ...
for x in iter1 and y,z in iter2: ...
