Welcome to the Manchester Historical Society in Manchester, Vermont
Founded in 1897, the mission of the Manchester Historical Society is to collect, preserve, interpret, and present the story of Manchester and its environs through the research collection, exhibitions, programs, and publications.
Over the last 125 years, the Manchester Historical Society has adapted to the changing landscape of communications and community involvement while continuing to fulfill the vision of its founders. Since 2014, our collection has been housed in the lower level of the Manchester Community Library, allowing MHS to remain true to its original mission to be a “convenient and reliable source of information concerning the town.”
