OMR MALL DEVELOPERS (OMRD)

OMRD began its endeavour to create one of India’s top shopping experiences in the year 2008. It was formed as a Special Purpose Vehicle with the goal of developing and promoting an international-class, reputable state-of-the-art mall in Egattur, OMR, Chennai.

Mr. and Mrs. Habeeb Syed Abdul Kader and their daughters, Mr. Habeeb Syed Mohamed Mukrim, Mrs. Habeeb Syed Ayesha Fathima, and Mr. Habeeb Syed Sayeed Aslam, founded it as a joint venture partnership using their land with M/s. Allied Investments & Housing Private Ltd., a leading realty promoter in Tamil Nadu, led by Mr. Abdul Wadood, its Managing Director, Mr. Syed Mohamed Salahuddin, Ex MD of ETA – Ascon, ETA – Star Group of Companies, and his brother Mr. Syed Abdul Cader, MD of Sky Group of Companies.

ABOUT THE INVESTORS

After graduating from Madras Christian College in Chennai in 1960, Mr. Syed Abdul Kader followed in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and great grandfather and started his business career in Hong Kong in 1961, eventually expanding to other countries, including India.

The family is a major investor in this enterprise, with a diverse range of business interests including Real Estate, Shipping, Asset Management, Construction, Land Development, Aggregates Trading, Advertising, Food & Beverage, Entertainment, Jewellery, Luxury Goods, Retail Chain Stores, and so on.The family’s companies have expanded from a single diamond and precious stone trading unit to a multi-national conglomerate with operations in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, and India.This trend of growth is continuing, with the firm actively exploring for new markets and prospects through multiple verticals and industries. Mr. Habeeb Syed Abdul Kader was intent on developing the largest shopping experience in OMR, and this concept was imagined and realised in line with this strategy.

Their core asset is their ability to spot niche business prospects in pre-emerging markets and confidently deploy experts to carry out their vision, as demonstrated by this initiative.

A shareholder of OMRD and is the main contractor of this project.
