Ms. Marvel is a member of S.H.I.E.L.D., acting as a supervisor for the Super Hero Squad. Due to how dedicated she is to her job, the Squad's antics often get on her nerves. Despite not being a member of the Squad at first, she could continuously fight alongside them, officially joining the group when they ventured into space to stop a war between the Kree and Skrull Empires.[2]
At some point before the beginning of the Kree-Skrull War, she began a romantic relationship with Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell). Due to the prolonged period of time he spent off-planet, her teammates on the Squad believed that she had created an imaginary boyfriend[3], only to be shocked when he arrived to aid the Squad against Thanos.[4]
After Mar-Vell sacrificed his life to defeat the Dark Surfer, Carol took on his position as protector of the Kree.[5]
