Background information[]
- Unlike most of Bantam's other original novels, Spock, Messiah! was not included in Titan Books' 1990s Star Trek Adventures reprint series.
- Notwithstanding the fan-written short story collection Star Trek: The New Voyages, this was the first original Star Trek novel to be published since 1970's Spock Must Die!. Following its release, however, original novels would be published on a more frequent basis, continuing until the early 1980s.
