Sorry John Lewis, but you’ve been beaten. Again.
Over the past few weeks we’ve seen some emotional Christmas ads from Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Vodafone and, surprisingly, even PornHub. Each one has given us the feels, in their own unique way.
But none has had us laughing and crying at the same time. Until now and Vision Direct’s lovely little Christmas ad.
Called ‘A Pug’s Christmas’ the ad tells us a story of a little boy and a pug called Gizmo who’s always breaking his glasses. As you do.
One day, the two head out for a walk in the snow, Gizmo wrapped up and sporting a pair of hastily repaired specs.

But, as Gizmo chases his ball across the snow, his glasses fail him once again and he crashes through the thin ice.
Never to be seen again. *Sobs*.

Only joking. The pug hasn’t perished in the icy waters.
The next scene shows a parcel arriving through the boy’s letterbox. Inside are some contact lenses.
The last shot shows Gizmo on the sofa, snuggled in a blanket and looking delighted with his new Acuvue Moist lenses. Just in time for Christmas.

N’aww.
