World-famous photographer, Don McCullin will be exhibiting a broad range of his work at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath this September.

Don, who lives in Shepton Mallet, will have more than 100 prints which cover the Vietnam war, working class London and the Somerset landscape.

Some of his personal memorabilia collected on assignments will also be on show, like army helmets and boots.

The free exhibition has been timed to coincide with Don's 75th birthday.

Victoria Art Gallery manager, Jon Benington, said: "McCullin, one of Somerset's most famous residents, had an uncanny knack for penetrating to the heart of any conflict situation, without taking sides.

"His compassionate lens reveals the human impact of the events he witnessed, rattling otherwise complacent cages and lingering long in the memory."

The exhibition will run at Victoria Art Gallery in Bath from Friday, 11 September to Sunday 21, November, 2010. Opening hours: Tuesday - Saturday 10am to 5pm and 1.30pm to 5pm on Sundays.
