Derby County seal Chris Maguire deal with Aberdeen (original) (raw)
Derby County have signed out-of-contract Aberdeen striker Chris Maguire on a three-year deal after the two clubs agreed a compensation package.
Maguire, 22, turned down a new contract to stay in Scotland but the Scottish Premier League side are entitled to recompense because of his age.
The fee for the Scotland international is understood to be around £400,000.
Rams boss Nigel Clough told the club website: , external"He is an exciting talent with great potential to improve further."
He added: "He is a creative player and someone who can bring a spark to the team."
Dons chief executive Duncan Fraser told the Dons website:, external "We are very pleased to have reached a satisfactory outcome which fully recognises the investment that this club makes in developing young players."
Maguire had been expected to join Derby, external more than three weeks ago but compensation talks held up the deal.
