Lee Hodges

Hodges made more than 200 appearances for Plymouth Argyle

Lee Hodges has been confirmed as the new manager of Southern Premier League side Truro City.

The former Torquay midfielder took the role on a caretaker basis at the end of last season following the departure of Steve Thompson in March.

During his nine games in charge last term, the 36-year-old led the side to six wins, one draw and two defeats.

In a statement Hodges said: "I'm very happy about it and really looking forward to the challenge."

He began his playing career with Tottenham in the early 1990s, before moving to Barnet, Reading and then Plymouth Argyle.

The combative midfielder left Home Park in 2008, joining Torquay from where he initially went to Truro on loan in October 2009.

Hodges has now become Truro's third manager in the last 12 months, following both Thompson and Sean McCarthy.
