Elgin City edged past Spartans to set up a Homecoming Scottish Cup fourth round clash with Airdrie United.

After a scoreless first half, Kenny Wright gave the home side a 52nd-minute lead with an excellent run and shot.

Mark Nicolson headed Elgin further ahead 10 minutes later from Ally MacDonald's corner.

Wright and Spartans captain Alex King were both sent off before Donal Henretty pulled a goal back for the visitors with seven minutes remaining.
