Thomas joined Charlton from Arsenal for 100,000 in 2004
Charlton winger Jerome Thomas is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his foot in the friendly against Hibernian on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old limped off during the early stages of Charlton's 3-2 defeat at Easter Road.
"We can confirm that Jerome has broken his fifth metatarsal in his right foot," medical department head Wayne Diesel told the club's website.
"He will have an operation on the foot on Thursday afternoon."
The injury is the same as the one that disrupted England striker Wayne Rooney's participation at the World Cup.
