BBC Sport - Football - Cheltenham Town sign Frankie Artus and Wes Thomas (original) (raw)
Frankie Artus started his career at Bristol City
Cheltenham Town have signed former Bristol City midfielder Frankie Artus and striker Wes Thomas from Dagenham & Redbridge on one-year contracts.
Artus, who has enjoyed two loans spells at the Robins, came up through the youth ranks at Bristol City but was released at the end of the season.
Thomas joined Dagenham in September 2008 and scored three goals in 24 league appearances.
He spent two loan spells away from the Daggers, at Grays Athletic and Rushden.
Cheltenham manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "We know Frankie is known by the fans and he's a good footballer.
"He's left footed which is a bonus and he can play in a number of positions.
"He's a fit young boy with a point to prove and he wants to play regular first team football and he's come here to take that opportunity.
"He's decent and we are looking forward to having him on board."
