BBC SPORT | RANGERS | No go for Flo says Murray (original) (raw)
Tore Andre Flo will not be one of the five players to leave Rangers this summer, chairman David Murray has insisted.
Murray has already disclosed that striker Rod Wallace and defender Sergio Porrini will be departing Ibrox at the end of the season along with three other players.
Newspaper reports had suggested that Flo was a target for Tottenham Hotspur and Spanish side Deportivo la Coruna.
But Murray told Rangers' website: "We are perfectly happy with Tore Andre Flo.
"He has taken time to settle in but is now showing signs of being the top-class player we believe him to be.
Niggling injuries
"We are not interested in moving him on"
Flo signed for Rangers in November for 12m from Chelsea.
Linked with Rangers: Andrius Skerla
The 27-year-old, who has been hampered by niggling injuries, feels that he has failed to reach his full potential despite scoring 10 goals in 17 starts.
Deportivo and Tottenham appear to be willing to pay 10m, but Murray insists that he would not consider such an offer.
Meanwhile, Dunfermline Athletic central defender Andrius Skerla is the latest player to be linked with a move to Rangers.
The 23-year-old Lithuanian international was previously with PSV Eindhoven.
Murray says that five players will be brought in to replace the five leaving.
