Rochdale have signed 18-year-old defender Craig Dawson on a two-year deal from a local non-league side.

Dawson joins the League Two side after they agreed terms with Radcliffe Borough over his release.

He told the Rochdale club website: "I live just around the corner so this is a brilliant move for me.

"Though there are some very good players in front of me, I am hopeful I will get my chance in the first team this season."
