Jonathan Greening

Greening began his career as a trainee at York City

West Bromwich Albion have rejected a third offer of around £4m from Fulham for captain Jonathan Greening.

The 30-year-old midfielder handed in a written transfer request two weeks ago, after an initial offer was turned down by the Championship outfit.

Fulham's first bid, believed to be around £2m, was followed by a second offer of £3.25m.

Greening wants to return to the Premier League after suffering relegation from the top-flight with the Baggies in May.

He joined Albion for £1.25m from Middlesbrough in July 2004 and has made over 200 appearances for the Black Country club.

The former Manchester United man still has 12 months left on his contract and has been offered a new four-year deal at The Hawthorns.
