Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was disappointed by the nature of the 1-0 pre-season defeat at MK Dons.
Former Wolves youth player Jermaine Easter scored the game's only goal firing home an angled shot.
McCarthy told BBC WM: "We've been punished here by one mistake, and we've not hurt them in the second half."
Wolves trialist Jerome Thomas lasted just half an hour after injuring his hamstring, but it is thought he will be given more time to prove himself.
It was Wolves' third pre-season defeat in the last seven days, after they were beaten by Port Vale and Bristol City.
McCarthy added: "I thought in the first half, we played well and shouldn't really be coming in at 1-0 down.
"If we make a mistake, it shouldn't end up in the back of our net, having played as well as we did."
