Clint Newton

Clint Newton shrugged off a calf injury to play against Wakefield on Sunday

Hull Kingston Rovers second row forward Clint Newton has signed a new four-year deal to keep him at the club until the end of the 2013 season.

The 27-year-old former Melbourne Storm star was due to be out of contract at Craven Park at the end of this season.

He told the Hull Daily Mail: "There is no other team I want to play for.

"I have no desire to return to the NRL because there is something special happening here at Rovers and I want to be part of it."

Newton believes he can add a Super League title to the Grand Final honour he won while playing at the Storm.

Hull KR, who have lost just one of their first four Super League games of the season, lie in sixth place in the table after Sunday's 31-18 win against Wakefield.

They welcome winless Celtic Crusaders to Craven Park on Sunday.
