Uncapped Nando makes Angola's Nations Cup squad (original) (raw)

Angola have named Nando Rafael in their final African Nations Cup squad despite not yet having Fifa permission to use him.

The 28-year-old represented Germany at Under-21 level and so needs official clearance to switch national allegiance.

However, Fifa says no application has been received for the change, so putting Rafael's participation in doubt.

Angola's squad was only released on Saturday despite having been submitted to the Confederation of African Football in midweek.

Coach Lito Vidigal included defender Kali and forwards Flavio and Love, who have been to the last three finals with Angola.

Angola, who have a final warm-up match against Sierra Leone in Cabinda on Saturday, play in Group B at the Nations Cup finals against Burkina Faso, the Ivory Coast and Sudan.

They have reached the quarter-finals at their last two Nations Cups.
