ALBA Challenge Cup holders Dundee needed late goals from substitutes Colin McMenamin and Sean Higgins to see off Alloa Athletic at Dens Park.

Veteran defender Scott Walker headed the visitors in front on 74 minutes and Andy Scott was unlucky to see his curling shot cannon off the crossbar.

A downward header from McMenamin levelled the game on 86 minutes.

And Higgins fired home the winner from close range after a scramble in the the Alloa penalty area.
