Undersoil heating at Hampden Park beat the winter freeze as Queen's Park and Arbroath fought out an entertaining draw.

Both teams started brightly but it was Queen's who went ahead after 12 minutes when the Arbroath defenders failed to clear a high ball into the box.

When it fell for Paul Borland he fired it low into the net.

Three minutes later Arbroath were level when Paul Brownlie met the ball on the edge of the six-yard area to fire past the Queen's keeper.

In an end-to-end game, both sides came close to adding a second goal and three minutes before the interval, Arbroath's Kevin Fotheringham hammered a header against the post.

Queen's dominated the second half but the visitors' keeper Colin Wight kept his side in the game denying both Kevin Finlayson and Steve Marshall from close range.

In the final minute Wight secured a point for Arbroath when he tipped a fierce drive from Borland past the post.
