Duffy has appeared twice in the Europa League for Everton
Burnley have signed defender Shane Duffy on an initial 28-day loan deal from Premier League side Everton.
The 19-year-old, who joined Everton's academy three years ago, made his first-team debut in a Europa League tie against AEK Athens in December 2009.
Duffy, who represented Northern Ireland at Under-21 level, switched allegiances to the Republic of Ireland in 2010.
In May 2010 he required life saving surgery after severing an artery near his liver during a training camp.
Duffy will link up with Burnley after returning from international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad in Portugal.
