Eric Cantona has said he would never return to Manchester United while the Glazer family are running the club.

The United legend has said in the past that he would like to possibly succeed Sir Alex Ferguson as manager.

But he has been quoted as saying: "Glazer could pay me 100m Euros to be manager and I still wouldn't go there.

"I don't think Glazer knows the game. He is nothing in comparison with Manchester United. I love the club but I don't like it with him in charge."

Cantona added that he did not think the transfer funds promised to Ferguson by the Glazers to use in the transfer window would be enough to buy any of the really big names.

"Manchester United is not like Chelsea and Roman Abramovich," he said in an interview with Red Issue fanzine. "They don't need one man. Manchester United is stronger than anybody in the world."

Meanwhile members of the Glazer family were in Manchester on Monday and held scheduled talks with Ferguson and United chief executive David Gill.

Reports suggest that they backed Ferguson over Roy Keane's departure and also confirmed that he will be able to add to his squad in January.
